REFINED EDUCATION
After our recent release of the REFINED II preset collection, we knew that one of the biggest questions we would receive was, “What is the difference between REFINED I and REFINED II?”
Our answer? It’s all in the details.
First and foremost, REFINED I is a film-inspired preset and REFINED II is not.
REFINED I
REFINED I is based off a clean Fuji 400H film scan with a very soft cyan color shift in the shadows and a soft cream in the highlights. Film and digital shooters alike love the slightly desaturated color palette of this preset collection that mimics the dreamy pastel colors of Fuji 400H film. Developed as the foundation of REFINED Co, this collection has stood the test of time and has been a staple in countless editing.
LAINEY MUREN
REFINED II is not a film emulation preset but rather showcases pure white whites and pure black blacks. Our community loved the film-inspired look of REFINED I, but widely requested to have a clean, true-to-color preset with zero color shift in the highlights and shadows. The crisp and accurate colors of the highly-anticipated REFINED II collection will instantly elevate your portfolio with a fresh, vibrant, and timeless aesthetic.
